I thought that the ‘idk my bff jill’ line was over since I haven’t heard it in the last thirty seconds. But wait, it gets worse. Now the generations can’t even spend time together and play scrabble without the texting. I’m glad I didn’t change the channel, because the last line from the mother was, “I have completely failed you as a parent.” I said YES. I think we need all of the parents that give their elementary school kids cell phones to view this commercial and realize this is THEIR child. But now that I think about it, I wonder why AT&T would use this as their advertising pitch. The first commercial with the same mother daughter duo was funny (after the first thousand times I heard people repeat it). But I think that this commercial fills the mold of the too much of a good thing, and people don’t want to see how awkward our younger generations have become when they use ROTFL as a word in scrabble. Which, I agree isn’t very likely, but the issue of fitting ur message into 180 characters for a text message is seriously hindering their imagination.
