Blog One NYC 12.22.07I have had my eyes peeled for an interesting billboard that I haven’t noticed but that I see frequently. Since I usually just drive on the thruway to 287, I figured NYC would be a great place to look at some billboards. I was flipping through my album when I noticed this photo of Times Square three days before Christmas. As you can tell, the streets are more packed then usual. Still, I was looking around at the billboards trying to find something interesting. Through all of the advertisements, I found the word ‘Toshiba’ over the Hard Rock Cafe insignia towards the middle of the picture on the top left.  I saw the Kodak ad and recognize that everyone wants a picture of Times Square, everyone always needs cash from Bank of America, movie ads always draw people to a theatre, so why Toshiba? All companies need to advertise, but I don’t understand who their target audience is or what product they are trying to push. Toshiba is also a different company then say Hershey’s, because everyone hears ‘Hershey’s’ and wants chocolate or candy. However, Toshiba sells a variety of electronics that would not be as easy to select one just from seeing the company name.
